The RAVIR is an Infrared to RF Gateway. It is an interface to convert remote infrared control signals to RF. The RAVIR allows scene control from hand held infrared remote controls, multiple audio systems and other systems having IR control outputs. It is used to connect IR based controllers with the Rako RF based receivers. In the default setting, RAVIR can control a single room with up to 4 scenes, off, master, raise and lower. When configured with RASOFT programming software, it is possible to select ‘mutiple-room’ mode and control up to 4 separate rooms with one RAVIR unit. Each unit of the module has an infrared receiver located at one end. This can be removed or mounted remotely using 3 core cable. The unit accepts Philips standard and uses Philips RC5 HEX code sets suitable to be used with the Marantz WizIT, Philips Pronto Edit, and Nevo Studio software suites. A special order version of RAVIR is available, with a receiver that is pre-tuned for Bang & Olufsen infrared handsets.
