Description

This 2D LED 5w lamp which is a perfect retrofit replacement for a 16w fluorescent.
The overall size is just 135x135mm across with an overall thickness including the lamp holder of 30mm.
This lamp is 2 pin, code GR8 and provides an excellent lumens output of 550lm.
The light colour can either be 4200K which is natural white which provides excellent visual clarity, or warm white 2700k for a warmer ambiance.
These 2D lamps have their own control gear inside so, when using in an exiting fitting which accepts fluorescent 2Ds, it is necessary to bi-pass the control gear in the fitting.
For wiring simply connect the 220-240AC mains live across the 2 pins.
The lamp is supplied with a separate 2 pin lamp holder which can be used if required.

Pleased to find these bulbs available to replace the existing 16w fluorescent tubes. They are the lowest wattage I could find and plenty bright enough for my kitchen. Easy to fit once I figured out how to remove the lenses over the light fitting.

The replacement for a 2D fluorescent tube was easily installed when the existing tube failed. The quality of light and speed of operation is very impressive while a worthwhile saving on electrify consumption is delivered. The flat nature of the light element means that it best to use it as a downlighter because this provides a good spread of light onto the pathway beneath it. The quality of light is also impressive.

Whilst this is a great replacement fixture when the lamp is attached to a bulkhead I have mine fixed to underneath of a car port and the light output is great directly downwards but there is little side spread as there was on the original tube fitting. The long life and reduced electricity use will be a great saving though.
