Plaster In LED Downlights FAQ's

Q1: What makes round plaster-in downlights different from traditional light fittings?

A: Round plaster-in downlights are designed to be trimless, meaning they blend seamlessly into plastered ceilings without visible edges or trims. This provides a clean, modern look that's ideal for contemporary interiors, as the downlights appear recessed and flush with the ceiling surface. Unlike traditional light fittings, these downlights are fixed in place to create a sleek, uninterrupted lighting effect across the room.

Q2: Are plaster-in downlights suitable for bathrooms and other moisture-prone areas?

A: Yes, our plaster-in downlights include options that are moisture-resistant and suitable for installation in bathrooms. Certain models are specifically designed for environments where humidity levels are higher, such as bathrooms or kitchens. It's essential to check the product specifications and select an option that meets the required IP rating for safe use in moisture-prone areas.

Q3: How much ceiling recess depth is needed for installing these downlights?

A: The required recess depth can vary depending on the downlight model, but most of our round plaster-in downlights are designed to be easily accommodated within standard ceiling depths. On average, a minimum recess depth of 70-100mm is recommended to ensure proper fitting and heat dissipation. Detailed measurements are available on each product page, and our team can help guide you on choosing the best model for your ceiling space.

Q4: What’s the difference between fixed downlights and recessed downlights, and which should I choose?

A: Fixed downlights are downlights where the light source remains in a fixed position, typically shining directly downward. They’re ideal for general lighting in areas like kitchens, living rooms, or hallways where a uniform light distribution is desired. In contrast, recessed downlights refer to lights that are installed within the ceiling cavity, so the fitting itself is hidden or "recessed." Most recessed downlights are also available as adjustable models, allowing you to tilt the beam angle for more directional lighting if needed. Fixed downlights are best for simple installations where direct light is needed, while recessed downlights add a sleek, modern look and are ideal for creating a minimalist aesthetic.
